QUOTE(jones007 @ Nov 24 2007, 06:30 PM)
fitness first at leisure mall is pure rubbish. IOI mall and menara axis those are better. leisuremall branch they have nothing inside there. bloody small, cramp, lots of shitty ppl.

QUOTE(angrydog @ Nov 24 2007, 09:54 AM)
The passport membership's kind of crap. It'll let you use any of the FF branches in Malaysia without limit, but I think you're restricted to 30 visits to any international FF over the lifetime of your membership.(My memory on this might be wrong, though)

Anyone here has a gripe about Fitness First Malaysia?

The complain

Anyone here has a gripe about Fitness First Malaysia?

I do! I've written to the Country Manager a week ago lodging a complaint about the Club Manager but have not heard a word since. Any thoughts on what I should do next?
In answer to The Bear:Hmmm good suggestion about writing to the UK. However, I'm probably going to write to the regional office first. You're right about their trainers/instructors: not all are certified ... what's worse, I'm not even sure if they're able to perform CPR should anyone collapse. Uh oh!

The Answers
Wow, I can't believe this...We had a problem with them and never ever got an answer from the manager. We even went to the counter several times to speak to her/him but he was always hiding. And we would see her/him walk around seconds earlier. It's her/him cos there was a change of manager at one point, same problem though, must be twin brother and sister... The staff, with a few exceptions, is rediculous and monopolizes the lat machine competing with eachother, ignoring the customers. Whenever there is a problem, they just wait to see if it goes away by itself. By the way, that's a Malaysian solution for everything......I quit membership at one point. Rubbish gym....

Just quit, many other gym's around.

wow, that is bad service... thanks for sharing it here. My girlfriend used to work for fitness first as a receptionist. She said many cutomers are unhappy and the club didnt do anything about it which is unprofessional. She quit due to stress. Talk about fitness huh... resulting in mentally

unfit is more like it.ps: i love my fats :)

forget about it, they just want the business and I hate that gym, I joined for a year membership and they really sucks compared to true fitness.

ahh... i hate those gyms.. i rather jog at the park during evenings.. nice weather nice sun, the most important thing is i dont have to pay!

Good advise.... I'm juz thinking to have membership on Fitness First.... Since I've read all this, I don't interested anymore....

I don't quite understand the rationale of going to the gym. Can't we get a workout by doing activities like jogging or cycling?Or how bout swimming if you live in a condo? Those aren't just free but they bring you outside.

I agree with jf_fryIt is free anyway (to do it outside). Always better with natural light to check out those girls.

450... means you do not have to pay the registration fee of 500. good for you.. if not, you gotta pay 950. register fast

Last time to join it takes RM 950. Today's price is RM95 + RM175 for home membership but free upgrade to passport. In other words, no such thing as home anymore, just playing with the price.

So buys the idiot.

Top ten blunders of Fitness First Malaysia

1. They, the sales people never have a publish rate, they never disclose price on the phone. Its a taboo to mention price.

2. First 2 questions when enquiring, they will seek to store your phone number.

3. They "Claim" that when you "join on that day" u'll never need to pay for joining fee. (the story stays every single week)

4. Admin fee of RM 95 for god knows why...the free gifts ofcourse!

5. And when you sign up, to get that free gift, a bag maybe you'll need to enter 20 of your friend's name from your phone in order to get the bag. Talk about invading one's privacy.. My advice, next time lie.

6. They're very hush hush on their price talking. Joining is always a 1 year commitment, they want full payment or credit card, which they will forcefully charge even if you asked to stop. Well this is in their fine prints, so we can't really blame them for being smart can we?

7. Their price follows the KLSE index, price may vary from day to day, sales rep to sales rep and clubs to club. If in doubt try this your self. They pick the price from the air, or rather how you're dressed.

8. Yes you pay for the towel, no towels are free you know.

9. Their passport to go overseas is only limited to 20 visits or so. I've had personally use them in Sydney while I was stationed there and this 20 visits ran out. But folks in Sydney are 10 times better than the guys here.

10. Some of their sales rep do not even know how to spell appointment. Not all, but says alot on the way they select people.

wait.. i think it is necessary to add number 11.

11. If you're like me, I travel from time to time and we need to freeze our membership. Just when you thought it was fair enough, freeze in Fitness First's concept is.... (30% of your membership fee, monthly)

So if you're like away for a year, and you've joined just 2 months ago on a 1 year commitment, you'll be paying a couple hundred.

Fitness First Malaysia

Today, will begin my critical opinion, nothing damaging but simply truth be set out loud in public. This site is not an official Site of Fitness First Malaysia, its is purely my opinion having been a member for years now.

Time to time I would be posting more... so stay tuned.
